Judgment is the evaluation of evidences to make a decision. There are two (2) kinds of judgments:- (i) Human/Court’s judgment and (ii) God’s judgment. Let us look at the characteristics of these judgments.
(I) HUMAN/COURT’S JUDGMENT
a) It is subjective. That is, it is not error free because decision is based on the evidences before him or the court.
b) Either party (Plaintiff or Defender), in case of court’s judgment, can appeal against the decision of the court, if it is considered as iniquitous.
c) Evaluation is based on documentary evidences and witnesses’ account; which may be fabricated and false respectively.
(ii) GOD’S JUDGMENT
a) It is accurate. That is, it is free from errors. Palms 7:11 “God is a righteous judge…”
b) Criteria for His judgments are based on: –
(i) Every idle or careless words man speaks.
Mathew 12:36-37, “But I tell you that men will have to give account for every careless word spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned”
(ii) His (Christ) word
John 12:48 – “There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that every word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day”.
(iii) Our deeds
Mathew 25:31-46, “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His throne in heavenly glory …”
c) God’s decision, through His Son, is unquestionable and irreversible. It is final.
So, God’s judgment day is the day HE has appointed to make decisions based on the records or evidences available before Him on every being.
How prepared are you for this day!
